Even as a child, I knew my life was going to be interesting. I had dreams of being Miss America one day and actually used to practice my wave daily. However, I soon realized that my talents lay more in the direction of artist/photographer/musician/writer…..etc.
I began singing when I was about four year old. My mom and dad would stand me on the table and I would sing “Six Little Ducks” for anyone who would listen. I loved it. I now been playing piano since I was 12 year old. I love all kinds of music, from classical to gospel, country, bluegrass, rock, blues, even some rap. Wow! I just love all of it. I have a style that is all my own. I have performed in many Theater shows, Lee Mace’s Ozark Opry, Ozark Mountain Hoedown, White River Hoedown, and Grandpa Jones Dinner Theater, just to name a few. I am now performing at various places with a band called Highway 65. We play old country, new country, old rock and roll, blues, and some bluegrass.
Many of my hours are spent in our recording studio, writing and composing music. My latest accomplishment in the music field is a play that I wrote based on the poem “The Christmas Guest”. I had a cast of 30 with a full choir in the finale. Not only did the play feature many of the old traditional Christmas songs, but many original songs that I wrote and arranged just for the play.
A few years ago, I became very interested in photography. I bought my first canon camera, a 10D, and began shooting nature and wildlife. I found that I love photography as much or more than music. I have now branched out into portrait photography, as well. I love it all.
If you asked me to tell you all the things that I enjoy doing, I would have to say, I enjoy many things. I paint, acrylics mostly, draw, sew, and design clothing. But my greatest love is photography and music. The greatest gift my parents gave me was, the confidence to believe that I can accomplish anything that I set out to do.
I have been married to Mark for 21 years. We have 4 children and 12 beautiful grandchildren. I hope they can say about me: She gave me the confidence to believe that I can accomplish anything I set out to do and she taught me how to see the beauty in all of God’s creations. Just maybe, some of them will want to try and capture some of that beauty in photos, paintings, or music.
